Basil pesto

I had to start this blog off with this. Its adorable! I got this on mothers day when we went to Chuys. One side is 1TBSP. (Tablespoon) and the other side is 1tsp. (teaspoon).
I had been letting adri use it in her play kitchen but last weekend when I was bored I cleaned her room and took this back. :) I love it.

SO, this post is about the basil pesto. I figured I'd share my failure the other day... It turned out ok, but I'll just let you in on what not to do. LOL

So, I got all of my ingredients ready to make sure I had everything.
In the picture LtoR, Parmesan cheese, evoo (extra virgin olive oil), 2 Cups fresh basil, Balsalmic vinegar, Flaxseed oil, Organic Flaxseed meal, Garlic, and Walnuts.

OK, so usually when I make this I add the ingredients one at a time in the blender, but Not this time. I dono what I was thinking... It did not turn out the same. OOPS. SO, for some goofy reason I dumped all the things in there at once and it did not turn out as green as usual.
My not as green, Basil Pesto. Next time I make it... I will add the ingredients one at a time and mix in the blender before adding the next.

Lesson learned: Follow directions... and I'm how old? So glad that the pesto was as forgiving as my God is. :)
